Our Director – Miss Candice

Candice Arnold (nee Jones) is a local mum of two who is fairly well known within the community having grown up, and still residing, in the area. Candice has ongoing involvement with local Community Theatre Companies and is the co-ordinator of the Extra Curricular Dance Programs in many local schools on the North Shore.

As a Dancer from age 3, Candice commenced her Teaching Career at age 15. After graduating from ED5 International in 2009 with a Certificate IV in Performing Arts, Candice performed overseas briefly but soon found that Teaching dance was her true passion and is what motivates her to share her love and enthusiasm for the Performing Arts with not just our Students, but the whole Footloose Performance Studios Family. With an extensive background in both Dance and the Performing Arts, Candice’s mission is to provide her students with excellent dance training while giving them a memorable and positive dance experience they can’t find anywhere else.

Meet our Teachers!

Taylor Chillingworth

Tap, Jazz, Acro, Ballet, Pre-school

Taylor started dancing at the age of 5 and has always had a strong passion for dance. She is trained in Jazz, Contemporary, Ballet, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Tap and Acro. She has studied Glen Wood Tap and completed grade 10.

Taylor attended Nepean Creative and Performing Arts High School followed by a 2 years full time at ED5 International graduating in 2016 with a Diploma in Performing Arts. Whilst at ED5 she performed at Carols in the domain, the Netball World Cup, Arnott’s Charity Gala Ball, Cara House Gala Ball and the Premiers Concert ‘Puttin on the Ritz’.

Taylor has also worked extensively in public schools across Sydney teaching the Dance2B Fit programs.

Taylor loves teaching and helping students learn and grow in both knowledge and technique and will continue to inspire them to follow their dreams in dance.

Kylie Clare

Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Contemporary, Broadway Jazz, Musical Theatre, Acrobatics, Singing, Drama, Private Lessons & Eisteddfod Choreographer

Kylie Clare has been performing ever since she was old enough to hold a microphone and started her dance training very young, completing it at Brent Street studio’s as a full time dance student. Kylie is trained in Cecchetti Ballet and RAD, Contemporary, Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre, Singing and Drama. Kylie has her Certificate IV in Dance Performance and has completed teaching certificates in Contemporary, Jazz and Tap, in addition to her Certificates IV & V in Physical Education. She maintains all of her mandatory qualifications and seeks out other professionals to collaborate with and expand her performance repertoire.

Kylie is very proud of the mentoring of her students and strives to see them out perform her. Supporting her soloists and troupes win consecutive national titles at Hollywood Bound, Showcase and Dancer of the Year Finals in Queensland is a huge achievement for Kylie in a professional teaching capacity. Teams in 2018 won and received trips to repress Australia in competitions the USA and Singapore based her troupe routine choreography.

Kylie has accompanied dance schools to the USA and has choreographed routines suitable for inclusion in the highly competitive Disney Performing Arts program and has had students dance at Disneyland in the Grand Parade, on the Disneyland Stage, at California Adventure Park and Universal Studios. Whilst in the USA she has attended workshops at The Edge and Millennium Dance Complex.

Throughout her career as a performer (dancer, actor and singer) she has had extensive television and film experience, featuring in over 30 TVC’s, short films, movies and voice overs. Kylie’s passion for singing started young and has been was recording jingles and voice overs for the past 20 years. Kylie will be performing on the Sydney Showboat as MC and lead vocalist for a return season from March 2019. Kylie has also had lead roles dancing and singing in several musicals including Annie, Grease, Little Shop of Horrors, Oliver, Gypsy, The Sound of Music, West Side Story, RENT, The Wizard of Oz and most recently performed as Elsa in the 2017 pantomime, Frozen.

Kylie has been teaching, singing and dancing for over 25 years, teaching both recreational and competitive students of all ages. She is currently mentoring dance teachers which includes visiting studios to conduct intensive classes for both teachers and senior students aspiring to start their dance journey in choreography and dance teaching. Kylie also makes regular appearances adjudicating local and interstate dance eisteddfods.

Fostering a love of dance and performance in her students is the key to her teaching success. Several of Kylie’s former students have/are working professionally in musicals including Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Matilda, The Sound of Music, West Side Story and Aladdin.

Kylie has written and produced several original musicals over the years, some of which have been staged locally. I look forward to instilling my love of performance to your children

Monique Harris

Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Pre-School

As a dancer for over 15 years, Monique has had a vast amount of experience with many teachers and dancers. She has studied Tap, Jazz, Ballet & Contemporary from the age of 4 and loved her dance journey at Capital Performance Studios. 

Monique has performed countless times at the Opera House, and was also a member of a troupe named the Best Tappers in Australia. Monique has worked professionally as a tap dancer, in the Chinese New Year Parade in Sydney and has appeared on Channel 10 several times performing with an elite tap group.

In 2018, Monique choreographed the musical “Grease” for Berowra Musical Society and also taught local public school dance groups choreographing routines for the Sydney North Dance Festival.

Monique started teaching as an assistant 6yrs ago and has been teaching for both Capital and Footloose Performance Studios since 2017. Monique is super excited to be teaching with the amazing Footloose team in the same venue she completed her dance training and can’t wait for the year to get started!

Katie Dacey

Hip Hop, Jazz, Acro

Katie has been dancing since the age of 7 and quickly discovered she had a passion for it. After finishing Year 12 she continued dancing for 2 years full time at ED5 International, graduating in 2016 with a Diploma of Performing Arts. She has trained in all styles to a professional level including Jazz, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Contemporary, Lyrical, Tap and Ballet.

Since completing her Diploma, Katie has worked professionally as a show girl and backup dancer, performing for the Sydney Kings at Qudos Bank Arena, The Zombies Band and many corporate functions. 

Katie began teaching with Footloose at the age of 18 and is passionate about sharing her knowledge and and love of dance with her students.

Klarissa Gennusa


Klarissa trained at The Conlan College of Classical Ballet for her foundation followed by full time training from 2010 until graduating in 2015. Klarissa has completed all of her RAD Examinations receiving high distinction in all major examinations with 100% in her Advanced 2. She recently featured in the movie “Dance Academy the Comeback” released in cinemas 2018 as well as starring in a store film “Reverie” played at Sydney Film Festival.
Following graduation, Klarissa received many offers to travel overseas with companies such as Ajkun Ballet Theatre and Stara Zagora State Opera Ballet and in 2018 Klarissa joined Melbourne City Ballet. Her performance credits include “Crystal Fountain fairy solo”, ” Silver Jewel solo”, “White cat pas de duex”, nymphs, attendant in Sleeping Beauty, “Mercedes” Carmen’s best friend in Carmen, “Kate American Pas de deux” in Madame Butterfly, “Spanish pas de duex”, snowflakes, party guest in Nutcracker.
Klarissa has been teaching all over Sydney, Melbourne and Tamworth for many years. She has a passion for inspiring young dancers and spreading her love and knowledge for dance to each student to watch them grow individually as a dancer.

Amy Baxter


Amy grew up on the Central Coast and began her love of dance at the age of 4. After completing high school she trained full time ED5 International completing her Certificate IV in Performing Arts.

Throughout her career she has travelled the world performing with Princess Cruises for several years and has performed as a featured dancer for Baz Luhrmann’s Great Gatsby Australian Premier. She has also been seen as a back up dancer for artists such as Samantha Jade, Red Foo and Marcia Hines.

With her knowledge of performance and strong background in technique Amy loves to share this with her students. She has been sharing her passion with the students at Capital Performance Studios for 4 years and looks forward to being part of the Capital-Footloose Team in 2019 so she can continue to see the growth in all her students.

Melanie Louise Hitchcock

Hip Hop

Melanie has been judging, teaching and running workshops/events for well over 20 years and is currently in high demand as one of Sydney’s leading and most experienced dancers, teachers and choreographers.

Born on the Central Coast Melanie was trained in a variety of dance styles before moving to Sydney at the age of 20 to dance full time. Melanie’s specialty lies within Street dance styles and choreography.

She developed a love for Hip Hop and street dance in the early 90’s and has advanced her skills both here in Australia as well as overseas in New York, Los Angeles and Japan over the past 25 years. She is experienced in Hip Hop, Stepping, Breaking, Popping and Locking, Krump, House Dance and has just begun her Journey with the Chicago Footwork dance style.

During her teaching career Melanie has choreographed and danced with crews such as Caramell, Found8ion, Rhapsody & Sweet Elite (Australia’s first B-girl crew) and has competed Nationally and Internationally with Crews and as a solo freestyle dancer.

Melanie has judged many street dance competitions such as Hip Hop International, Battlegrounds & Numerous Battles as well as adjudicated at many Eisteddfods.

Melanie’s credits include: Johnny Ruffo, Danielle DeLaite, Senani, Amanda Perez, Israel, Random, Selwyn, Lordz of the Fly, Maya Jupiter, Foreign Heights, Sneeky Sound System and Joseph Gatehau of Australian Idol.

Other Choreographic achievements include: The Opening of the Urban Music Awards 2006/2007, Big Day Out, Sweatfest / Ministry of sound, Battle of the Year, Sleazeball, Johnny Ruffo Australia & Macau tour, Corporate entertainment for Hewlard Packard, Apple Ipod, Telstra & Adidas. More recently Melanie performed for Iggy Azalea Bonds Campaign and won the Real Estate House Battle in Brisbane.

Karlee Misipeka

Musical Theatre, Lyrical, Hip Hop

Karlee is a Sydney based Performing Artist, with over 12 years of professional experience within the Industry. Karlee’s multifaceted career has taken her from the Theatre, to Stage and Screen as a performer, with teaching and choreographing also playing an integral and important part of her pursuit.

She began dancing at 4yrs of age on Sydney’s North Shore before attending The McDonald College of Performing Arts and TDHS (Brent Street High School). Upon completing her HSC, she completed her studies at Brent Street where she obtained her Certificate IV in Performing Arts.

Karlee’s first professional Theatre credit was Disney’s ‘High School Musical live on stage’ at the Capitol Theatre. She then went on to appear in ‘Hairspray the Musical’ in both Sydney and Melbourne as a swing covering the Three Dynamites and Little Inez. Her favourite credit to date though was playing the lead role of Diana Morales in the Australian revival of ‘A Chorus Line’ which toured Australia and Singapore to rave reviews.  Apart from her theatrical appearances, Karlee has also had an extensive career appearing in TVC’s and performing on TV, cruise ships and a variety of other stage performances.

With over 15 years experience teaching in Sydney and overseas, Karlee has co-directed and choreographed School Musicals, and has created many concert routines and award winning Eisteddfod routines.

Karlee has a passion for inspiring young performers and takes joy in seeing their own joy and improvement. She hopes to continue nurturing her students with knowledge and encouragement so they are their most confident selves.

Emily Bridgland

Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Acro, Pre-School

Emily began her love of dance at the young age of 2. By the age of 10 she was dancing up to 6 days a week pursuing her passion for ballet and gaining a stronger foundation in all genres of dance, including jazz,  contemporary, lyrical, musical theatre, tap and hip hop.

Emily successfully completed her ballet exams from primary to Advanced 1 with outstanding results, and was a finalist in the NSW Cecchetti Medal Awards in 2012 and 2013. Emily has been assistant teaching at several dance studios for the past 5 years, preparing and choreographing children for end of year performances and eisteddfods, as well as competing herself in troupes and solos in local competitions.

Emily has been involved in School Spectacular, North Sydney dance festival, NSW state dance group and multiple community performances.

Samantha Lee

Jazz, Contemporary, Acro

Sammy started dance at a very young age, following her mum’s footsteps in American Latin and ballroom dancing. After 2 years she changed her dance path and pursued rhythmic gymnastics where she competed for 10 years reaching the state and national levels.

At school she participated in the school dance groups performing at several venues including the Opera House and was part of the Schools Spectacular two years in a row.

Sammy has been part of the Footloose Family since 2013 first as a student and now as a Junior Teacher.

Rebecca Stock

Jazz, Tap, Acro, Pre-School

Dance has been a major part of Bec’s life since the age of 4. She began with a strong foundation in the Cecchetti ballet method and by the age of 8 she was dancing 5 days a week and competing in numerous eisteddfods including a performance at the opera house in the under 12 division.

During high school, Bec represented her school in dance festivals and competitions as well as gaining some experience in aerobic gymnastics, reaching both state and national levels. She soon discovered other genres of dance including contemporary, jazz and more recently acrobatics which she has continued to study and teach as an assistant for several years.

Bec is looking forward to continuing her training with the Footloose Family as both a dancer and junior teacher this year.
